Do you use the Internet? Do you realize that an unprotected computer lasts less than 20 minutes while attached to the Internet? Do you know what your kids are doing on the Internet?
The first part of this presentation addresses what you need to know to protect your computer while on the Internet. We will discuss the various types of issues you can run into and the tools that are available to you. We will discuss phishing, viruses, email scams, Trojans, etc.
The second part of this presentation addresses the more insidious side of the Internet and how it can affect your children. We will discuss things that kids like to do on the Internet such as cyber bullying, blogging, chatting and using sites like MySpace and Xanga. We will delve into their unique language and find out what some of your kids might be doing today. We will also discuss ways to protect them from potential abuse.
