Goals and Objectives of the SPARKS 4-H Club
and Benefits for Local Businesses
David Franc – SPARKS 4-H Technology Club
October 2006
A new 4-H technology specialty club was formed in Carroll County in June 2006. While most people associate 4-H with agriculture and livestock, 4-H is truly about teaching life skills to youth. The SPARKS 4-H Club has begun work on robotics projects and is working on plans to include other aspects of technology in their activities.
To the youth, the club is about working on interesting projects. But the goals extend beyond the technology projects to include teaching skills necessary for success in higher education and in the workforce. This Club provides excellent opportunities to local youth.
Cooperation between the SPARKS 4-H Club and the Carroll County Technology Council can produce mutual benefit to both organizations, and to local businesses as well.
