Paul Ritchey has been working in the security field for Baltimore based Jacob and Sundstrom, Inc. for over six years. Starting as a front line first level analyst, he quickly became involved in deeper threat analysis and is now involved as a security researcher building one of the largest intrusion detection system (IDS) architectures in the world backed by an Oracle database.
Along the way Mr. Ritchey has developed several unique tools and written many papers based on his analysis of rootkits and hacker tools. He has also taught several courses and wrote the majority of the material used at the SANS Institute for their course on the Snort IDS.
