Techie of the Year Award
This Year's Techie is Bob Keller
Nominees
Alissa Harrington, Carroll Tech Council Secretary
Coordinator, Computer Training
Continuing Education
Carroll Community College
Alissa is a hands-on administrator who has spent hours and hours on Tech Council projects. She faithfully attends all Tech Council meetings, not only the monthly member meetings, but also Executive Team and Board meetings, producing top-quality minutes from each of these. In addition, she worked with Bob Keller to make the LAN Gaming marathon a success. When we needed volunteers for our Fallfest booth, Alissa was among the first to step up and agree to be there. Alissa was also a day-long volunteer for our Golf Tournament.
Active in the community, she was one of the coordinators for the Purse Action raising funds for SKIT and also uses her technology skills to do on-line evaluations for the Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Carroll program. Alissa brings a great deal to our community and to CTC.
Bob Keller, CompuKids Committee Chair
Owner of Keltech Computers
Bob joined the Tech Council in September of 2005, and immediately expressed an interest in assisting with CompuKids. He very quickly accepted the role of Chairman of CompuKids, and began working to meet the current needs. Once CTC moved to the Non-Profit Center, our CompuKids' requests doubled, and then quadrupled.
Bob rose to the challenge, and sought additional computers, and held more frequent WorkDays. Realizing that even this wasn't going to be enough, Bob has helped CTC acquire additional computers and is training other CTC members to prep computers for donations. The time involvement has been huge, and there was never a request from CompuKids that Bob refused.
In addition to CompuKids, Bob volunteered to run our LAN Gaming event. This event, hosted by Carroll Community College, offered an outreach into a different segment of our community - the youth. Again, a great deal of Bob's time and effort went into making this a success. Bob was also a volunteer at our Fallfest booth, and supported our Golf Fund Raising efforts. Bob's dedication to the Tech Council is evident in the efforts he has put forth to assist us.
Isabel DeFeo, Website Committee Chair
Owner, IMA Web Design
Owner, IMA Marketing Specialist
Adjunct Instructor Carroll Community College
Isabel has been a part of Carroll Tech Council from it's early beginnings, and assisted in the original setup of our website. Since it's inception, our website has gone through many, many changes, additions, and innumerable updates. Not a week goes by where she doesn't get several requests to change, add, or fix something on our website. These she does efficiently, thoroughly, and cheerfully. It is due to her efforts that we are now able to accept credit card payments online.
Recently, Isabel has been holding Website meetings, and is working with other dedicated CTC members to make improvements to our website. Isabel worked behind the scenes on our Golf Tournament, contacting all of our sponsors and gathering together needed information for the Program. Isabel manned our Fallfest booth, and also served on our Election Committee 2006. Isabel is truly an unsung hero of CTC.
