Suzanne Dyer-Gear of Powell & Dyer-Gear Consulting, LLC made a presentation on "Lost Employees - How Good Organizations Lose Good People While Still Employing Them"
Committee Reports
- Ambassador
- Mike Shelah recognized Jerry Tabeling from IDP, LLC; Bruce Rogers, Kingsley Construction, Craig and Deborah Blake from CompassPoint Technologies and Scott Fischer from Future Security.
- CompuKids
- The last CompuKids Work Day was March 29th where 15 volunteers under the direction of Chairman Bobby Keller and Bob Dorr imaged and refurbished 55 Dell computers. We have 27 families lined up for the next Donation Day in May.
- Golf

Ron reminded everyone about the CTC golf and fundraising event at Challedon on May 15th. Tee time is set for 8:30 am with an after golf barbeque for non-members and non-golfers. The golf fee includes the barbeque.
Sponsorships are available with a Hole Signage sponsorship at $125.
Raffle tickets are now being sold for a Wnydham Vacation Resorts 4 day/3 night vacation get away along with $250 cash. Every member is asked to sell 5 tickets @ $10 each. The raffle will help to raise additional event income. The raffle winner will be announced at the barbeque and the winner does not need to be present to win.
The After Golf Barbeque is from 12-4 pm and the cost is $25.00 per ticket. All event registration is available on the CTC website. Volunteers are needed for the event and will receive CTC polo shirts. - Education

An MS One Note class taught by Marc Ripper will be held Monday, April 14, 2008 from 6 - 8 pm. Sign up with Jeannine. You can download a free 60 day trial of the software from the MS website.
Dates for the Adobe Photoshop course which will be held on two 3 hour evening sessions in May will be announced soon. - Technology Advisory Committee
- The Communications Seminar was presented on April 3rd. Copies of the presentation are available and the program is being aired on CMC. Air times are listed on the CTC website. The next seminar twill be held June 12th and will focus on Disaster Planning and Disaster Recovery.

The winner of the $25.00 Blockbuster gift card was Brian Snyder, Carroll County Dept. of Economic Development. - CTC Marketing Committee
- Josh Kohn presented ideas for the formation of a Marketing committee. Some duties that the committee members could assist with include writing articles and press releases, coordinating event promotion and marketing, etc. Josh said if anyone was interested in serving as the Chairperson or member of the Marketing committee, they should contact him or Jeannine.
- Tech Council Orientation
- New members and potential members are invited to attend the CTC orientation on May 1st from 6:00 - 7:00 pm.
Member Announcements
- Mike Sheelah announced that SPEECHPATHways, operated by member Kim Bell, will be having a fund raiser - Family Fun Day at Spring Meadow Farm on May 3rd from 12:00 - 4 pm. See their website for more information.
- Rich Waganer mentioned the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra program to be held tonight at Winters Mill High School.
- Bob Cage said his church, Calvary United Methodist Church, is planning another trip to Mississippi on May 19th.They have two openings if anyone is interested in attending.
- Douglas Heck announced wildlife painter John Taylor will be at the Taneytown History Museum this Sunday from 1-4 pm.
- Tom reminded everyone that the Westminster Fallfest benefit for Carroll County Historical Society, Rape Crisis, Carroll Hospice, and Kiwanis Clubs of Westminster will be held this Saturday.
- Tom Canon announced an event - Picnic in the Woods hosted by Sylvia Haines, et al, to raise money for Sylvia's Acorn fund to provide for unmet needs and services for community residents.
- Jeff Selby shared that the Fight the Tech Tax effort was successful as the tech tax was repealed by the State Legislature and Governor O'Malley. As a result of this issue, the IT industry now has an industry lobbyist.
- Ron acknowledged new members who joined this last month: Dave Buie, Linda Cook of Project Cooks, LLC; Sylvia Haines; and Tom Murphy of Aevent Group. He also mentioned that the membership goal for 2008 is 100 members (net of attrition) and challenged the membership to be proactive in achieving this goal by bringing in new members.
- Ron announced that the CTC will be commemorating its 5th Anniversary in 2009 and that plans are in the works for properly celebrating this special occasion.
