Introductions

Lynn Karr opened the meeting with member introductions.

Josh Kohn distributed the Board of Elections ballot to the members. Each member was instructed to select 5 Board members from the list of candidates. The ballots were collected and tabulated by the Nominating Committee members Josh and Isabel.

Alissa Harrington shared highlights and photos from the LAN Gaming Event. Lynn thanked Bobby Keller and Alissa for the roles that Keltech Computer and Carroll Community College played to make the event possible.

Committee Reports

Ambassador
Mark Pallack reminded new members to seek involvement though committees. Our newest member, Lorsi Pizza, with Cavalier Business Communications, introduced herself to the members. Her company can provide high-speed communications to area businesses, including T1 connectivity.
Annual Event
Richard Lord reminded members of the Nov 18th dinner event at the Best Western. Three video entries were submitted and will be presented during the event. Tickets for the event can be paid for online.
CompuKids
Bobby Keller recently picked up 80 machines from Montgomery County. Many of them are Pentium 4's. He reported that 70 families remain on the wait list and there is much work to be done. Assembly line help needed for the next CompuKids work day (TBA). Modems, speakers and RAM still needed. Lynn acknowledged Wade Johansen for his recent assistance with the CompuKids program.
LOCATE
Register your technology company with LOCATE. Denise reported that during the months of Sept-Oct, the homepage received 270 unique visits and over 500 page views. Locate is one of the top 5 pages visited on our site!
Membership

News Articles Series
If you have an article of general technology interest, please submit it to Lynn. Articles must be 500-800 words.
Technology Advisory Committee
According to Ron Harrington, the mission of this committee is to keep the Tech Council informed of the latest technologies. Currently the committee is forming a communication workshop, focused on VOIP, to be delivered to local municipalities. The target date for this presentation will be Jan or Feb of 2007. Thom Bethune expressed the need for non-commercialized technology information among the municipalities.
Website
Isabel DeFeo reported that efforts to revamp the Tech Council's website continue. Membership payments and renewals can now be processed online.
Westminster City Advisory Board
Tom Canon announced that channel 23, the new municipality channel, recently launched. However, there is a growing need for software upgrades within the municipality.

Election Results

After a tabulation of the votes, Josh Kohn reported a tie between Tom Canon and David Shaffer. Josh redistributed ballots and requested members to cast a vote for either candidate.

Upon completion of the second tabulation, Ron Harrington announced the results of the Board Election:

Member Announcements

Rich Waganer
Rich proposed a free day of studio use to CTC members to record a web streaming message. More details to come.
Denise Beaver
Reminded members to take advantage of the Four partners for One Purpose courses. These are free courses for small business. Remaining topics include Hiring and Firing and Strategic Business Planning. Members can register for the training by calling Carroll Community College at 410-386-8012

Linda Gray Niznik
The high School robotics team needs your support! Please plan to attend the basket bingo on Friday Dec 1, 2006 at the Pleasant Valley Fire Hall, 2030 S Pleasant Valley Rd. Starts 7 PM, doors open at 5:45 PM, early bird game at 6:45 PM. 3 cards for 20 games- $10 advance tickets, $12.00 at the door. Food, drinks, raffles and specials. Dave Anderson
Graybar is offering special pricing on cabling to Tech Council members through 12/31/06. See the Tech Council website for more information.
Bobby Keller
Has several Dell docking stations and port replicators, series C, which he will provide to members free of charge. Please contact Bobby if you are interested.
Tom Canon
Stated it was the best year ever for Fallfest. The committee will be distributing the proceeds next week. Currently, Fallfest is choosing partners for 2007.
Ron Harrington
Encouraged new members to attend Technically Speaking Dinner Event, as it will provide them an idea of what the Tech Council is all about.
Lynn Karr
Lynn announced that the CCTIMES will run an article about CTC's Tech Nite event, and will showcase the wining PSA video on their website the morning after our dinner.
Invited members to attend the CTC Holiday Gathering at Kohn Creative on December 7th from 5-7pm. This event will be in lieu of our monthly member meeting.
