General Announcements
- Ron Harrington
- President Ron Harrington opened the meeting at 8:30am.
- Ron reminded the members that this is the year for committees and involvement. He encouraged all the members to consider becoming more involved with the Council through committee participation.
- Lynn Karr
- Lynn recognized our newest member,
Catherine McDonald from A&O Consulting. - Lynn announced that beginning in January, the Tech Council meetings will include a member networking time from 8am-8:30am.
- Lynn advised that our new office space in the non-profit building will be ready by the end of January. The new address is: 255 Clifton Blvd, Suite 215

Topic: Computer Forensics
- Computers are like a diary
- Your daily schedule, your keystroke activity and grammatical syntax reveal your profile
- Nothing is EVER gone from a computer;
recovery can be made from day one! - Evidence can come from torn screw heads!
- Devices such as USB drives, leave markings similar to fingerprints
- Statistical analysis, which includes the use of punctuation and syntax, can be used to determine the source of a document
- Knowledge and intent, can reveal whether a person manually visited a sight or not
Event / Committee Reports
- Ambassador
- Mark Pollack is the new chair. His goal is to establish early commitment and involvement of incoming members.
- Ask the Expert
- The final session is next Wednesday, December 14th at 7:30am at Carroll Community College, room 157. Denise Beaver will moderate this session, addressing the topic: Maintaining your Business Network.
- Previous sessions of Ask the Expert are currently televised on channel 18, Sunday at 8:30pm and Wednesday at 1:30pm.
- Compukids
- Dave Shaffer was recognized for his efforts and for initializing the Compukids program.
- Lynn announced Bobby Keller as the new chair. A request was made to update the Tech Council website with his name.
- Bobby distributed an update and addressed the members regarding his goals and guidelines pertaining to the Compukids program. He informed the members that we are exceeding our goal of 5 computers every quarter. Three families are currently on the wait list, and plans are being made to conduct another distribution prior to Christmas.
- Compukids has a need for PCI modems and speakers with AC adapters.
- Lynn shared a letter of gratitude from a Compukids recipient. The letter stated that the computer has "improved their quality of life."
- Events
- Lynn reminded members that the State of the Tech Council event is currently televised on Channel 19 during the following times:

- Judy noted that 2 major fundraisers are in the planning stages:

- Actively seeking sponsors
- $4,000 Platinum Sponsor Level available

- Josh shared the mock up of the sponsorship brochure

An "Open House" event is also a possibility once the Tech Council moves into the new Non-profit building.
- Golf Event
- Financial
- Phil reported that the Council's First Tax Return has been filed. The return is available to anyone who would like to view it; plans are being made to post the information on Tech Council's website.
- Phil noted that the grant from Economic Development greatly aided with this year's funds. He is currently working on the 2006 operating budget.
- PR
- Josh Kohn had the prototype of the literature for the golf event. Focus right now is on ad placement.
- Technically Correct
- The show "High Tech Toys for the Holidays" continues to air on Channel 19 on Sundays at 9pm. Denise reports that the committee will be meeting soon to begin planning next quarter's televised production.
- Website
- Isabel states that there are a few updates to be made. Currently, she is working with Tom Sullivan to incorporate video segments of "Technically Correct" into the website.
- Government Affairs
- Ron reported that Karen Merkle will continue to chair of this committee. The goal of this committee is to seek ways to incorporate our services in the current pathway of the County's Master Plan. A letter to Steve Horn is being drafted at this time to reflect our intent.

- Bob Cage
- Bob Cage announced that Brahma Technologies released 2 new systems for hospital and doctor use. He intends to submit to the Tech Council for member news listing.
- Linda Gray-Niznik
- Linda Gray-Niznik reported that the Robotics Team is still greatly in need of funds. She requested that checks be sent to the Community Foundation and not the Tech Center.
