Council Aims to Teach Technology to Everyone

by Marc Seidler – June 5, 2005

Are you technologically challenged, as many of us are? Does the word “technology” make you cringe and want to go back to the old “horse and buggy days?” If so, then read on to find out about a new weekly column that may help you overcome this techno phobia.

Tech Council Advisors

The Carroll Technology Council has a group of Advisors from various industries and professional fields that will be writing a weekly column to appear here in the In Focus section every Sunday. I am the Chairman of the Tech Council Advisors, a Carroll County resident for 24 years, and a local business owner of The Computer Doctors.

The Tech Council Advisors are a group of experts in their professional fields, and will be authoring this column on a rotating basis. They live technology every day in their businesses and jobs, so they stay on top of the latest trends and technologies available. In our fast-paced world, we know it is hard to stay abreast of what is the best use of new technology, and to plan for its implementation in the future.

Available Local Resource

However, because technology touches all of us in almost every facet of our daily lives, this understanding is becoming increasingly more important. Our goal is to be an available local resource to help promote Carroll County and propel us into the future.

We are not here as salesmen, but rather to provide general information regarding technology as it relates to Carroll County. We are advocates for Carroll County life and the future of our County. We realize that Carroll County must stay competitive with technology to attract new residents and businesses to allow for a stable and prosperous future.

Our experts are from the fields of Agriculture, Business, Construction, Creative Industry, Education, Energy, Environment, Finance, Hospitality, Information Technology, Media, Medical, Telecom and Transportation. The articles will explain some facet of their field of technology, to simplify it and to help you feel more comfortable in dealing with technology in your daily lives.

But there's more! Not only will these articles be written by local experts, it is our intention to address issues that you are experiencing. We encourage you to submit questions to us for inclusion in future articles. That way, we can provide answers to your questions as we cover current technology.
