Propel your product R&D through Maryland Industrial Partnerships (MIPS) funding. MIPS offers up to $100,000 per year in matching funding for research projects teaming Maryland companies with university faculty to develop technology products.
Apply
Receive up to $100,000 per project (matching funds) for university-based technology product R&D. Companies of any size with operations in Maryland are eligible. Apply through a convenient, online application process. You'll know within 60 days whether or not you've received an award.
Produce
Leverage university expertise, facilities, and resources to cost-effectively accelerate your product development. MIPS will match you with faculty members who best meet your requirements. University faculty members conduct the research in close coordination with company investigators.
Commercialize
MIPS projects have made significant contributions to leading commercial products, including Hughes Network Systems' DIRECWAY Internet satellite service, Martek Biosciences' infant formula oils, Navmar's Mako unmanned aerial vehicle, and Black & Decker's masonry drill bits. Those products have generated a combined $9.8 billion in revenue.
